This Privacy Policy explains how the Oswego Christian Church mobile application accesses, collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information. 1. Information We Collect Most features of the app can be used without creating an account or providing personal information. If you submit a prayer request, contact form, or similar message, we collect the information you choose to provide. This may include your name, contact information, and the contents of your request or message. Push notifications. If you allow notifications, the app and its service providers may process a device push-notification token and related technical information needed to deliver notifications. Technical information. Our service providers may process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, and deliver app features. 2. How We Use Information We use information only for legitimate church and app purposes, including to: Respond to prayer requests or messages you submit. Provide pastoral care or church communication when requested. Deliver notifications you have chosen to receive. Operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the app. Comply with applicable legal obligations. 3. Children and Family Content The app includes Bible-based content intended for children and families, including the Kids coloring-book experience. The coloring-book feature does not require a child to provide a name, email address, phone number, precise location, or other personal information in order to color pictures. Children should not submit prayer requests, contact forms, or other personal information without the involvement or permission of a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that personal information from a child was submitted without appropriate parental involvement or consent, a parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion. 4. Giving and Payments The app may provide access to online giving through an external service. Payment and financial information submitted through an external giving provider is processed by that provider under its own privacy and security practices. Oswego Christian Church does not intentionally store full payment-card information within the mobile app. 5. Third-Party Services Some app functions rely on third-party service providers. Depending on the feature used, these may include: Google/Firebase for push notifications. Supabase for app data and backend functionality. YouTube for sermon or video content. An external online-giving provider. These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services and are subject to their own privacy policies and terms. 6. Sharing of Information We do not sell personal information. We may share information with: Authorized OCC staff or ministry leaders when needed to respond to a prayer request or message. Service providers that help us operate the app or provide a requested feature. Government authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or security. 7. Advertising The Oswego Christian Church app does not display third-party advertising. 8. Data Security We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Information transmitted to supported online services is generally sent using encrypted network connections such as HTTPS. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. 9. Data Retention and Deletion We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was provided, for pastoral or administrative needs, or as required by law. Prayer requests or messages may be retained as necessary to respond and provide requested pastoral care. Push-notification tokens may be retained while notifications are enabled or until the token becomes invalid or is no longer needed. We will take reasonable steps to verify and fulfill applicable deletion requests. 10. Your Choices You may decline or disable push notifications through your device settings. You may choose not to submit optional prayer requests, forms, or contact information. You may request deletion of information you previously submitted by contacting OCC. 11. Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, service providers, or legal requirements change.
